Storage Brent Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Storage Brent has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. Storage Brent is committed to conducting business ethically, with integrity, and in compliance with all applicable laws relating to modern slavery and human rights.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Storage Brent maintains a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour in any part of our business or supply chain. We expect the same high standards from all those we work with, including suppliers, contractors, and business partners.
We do not knowingly enter into relationships with organisations that are involved in, or are complicit in, modern slavery practices. Where concerns arise, we act promptly to assess the risk and, where necessary, to terminate relationships that do not meet our ethical expectations.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Storage Brent provides secure storage facilities and related services. Our supply chain includes providers of property services, security systems, cleaning and maintenance, equipment, technology, and professional services. While the inherent risk of modern slavery in our sector is relatively low, we recognise that risks can arise within extended and global supply chains, particularly in areas such as construction, facilities management, and manufacturing of equipment.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We are committed to working only with suppliers who share our values and who operate in accordance with applicable labour and human rights laws. We communicate our expectations clearly and require suppliers to operate fair working practices, provide safe working conditions, and respect the rights and dignity of workers.
As part of our due diligence, we consider the geographic location of suppliers, the nature of the goods or services provided, and the vulnerability of workers involved. Suppliers assessed as higher risk may be subject to enhanced review and monitoring.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
We are developing and implementing proportionate audit and monitoring processes to assess compliance with our anti-slavery requirements. These include documentation reviews, requests for supporting evidence of labour practices, and, where appropriate, site visits and inspections carried out by Storage Brent or independent third parties.
Where issues are identified, we work collaboratively with suppliers to agree corrective action plans with clear timelines. Failure to implement adequate remedial measures, or evidence of continued non-compliance, may result in suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Brent encourages all employees, contractors, and suppliers to report any concerns related to modern slavery or human rights abuses in our operations or supply chains. Concerns may include indicators of forced labour, exploitation, unsafe or degrading working conditions, or any suspicion that modern slavery may be taking place.
Reports can be made through established internal reporting channels, including line management escalation and confidential reporting routes available within the company. Reports are treated seriously, investigated promptly, and handled sensitively. No one will suffer retaliation or be disadvantaged for raising a concern in good faith.
Training and Awareness
We are working to raise awareness of modern slavery risks among relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, and facilities operations. Training focuses on recognising signs of exploitation, understanding our policies, and knowing how to escalate concerns appropriately.
Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our modern slavery approach rests with the senior management of Storage Brent, who ensure that appropriate resources and attention are given to this important area. This statement is reviewed at least annually to reflect changes in legislation, best practice, and the evolving risk landscape.
The effectiveness of our approach is monitored through periodic assessments of supplier performance, review of reported concerns, and evaluation of training outcomes. Where improvements are identified, we update our policies, procedures, and controls accordingly.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the leadership of Storage Brent and applies to the current financial year. We remain committed to continuous improvement in identifying, preventing, and addressing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
